PowerPi MP305B Regulated DC Power Supply Mode Operation Guide

Preface

The PowerPi MP305B, as a compact desktop programmable DC power supply, features dual control with a 2.8-inch touchscreen and physical knobs. Voltage and current limit parameters can be finely adjusted via the knob or directly set through digital input on the touchscreen. The digital input method offers precise positioning and improves adjustment efficiency. Below, with step-by-step real photos, we break down the complete touchscreen setup process for current limits and output voltage, explaining interface icons and practical tips. 

 

Test Tutorial

1. Long-press the power button (function key) to turn on the device. Related reading: PowerPi MP305B Long-Press Power Button Startup Guide. 


2. On first startup, the device will enter DC voltage regulation mode. The initial interface is in CV (constant voltage) mode, with real-time output voltage, current, and power shown on the left side of the screen. Below, V-SET and I-SET show the currently set upper limit values. 


3. Press the output key to deliver power to the connected load and start testing. It’s recommended to connect the device to the product before pressing the switch. 


4. The knob indicator light on the body will turn solid green, and screen color blocks lighting up indicate the regulated DC power path is properly conducting, allowing load power supply or consumption testing. 


5. Tap the green real-time voltage value block on the left side of the screen to open a voltage-specific adjustment interface and start the custom voltage setting process. 


6. You’ll enter the voltage adjustment screen, where you can check the real-time response option. Enabling this will synchronize voltage changes instantly to the output port. 


7. Rotate the metal encoder knob clockwise or counterclockwise on the top of the device to increase or decrease voltage continuously. Click the calculator icon at the bottom-left of the pop-up to switch to a soft keyboard for precise number input. 


8. Press the metal knob to cycle through units, decimal places, and other digits for individual calibration. Repeated presses will loop through all digits. 


9. Short-press the round power/function button on the side to close the adjustment pop-up and return to the main monitoring page. 


10. Returning from the adjustment pop-up to the main monitoring interface. 


11. Tap the current value area on the screen to start customizing the current parameters. 


12. You can either use the on-screen numeric keypad to input current values or click the roller icon to switch to the knob/scroll mode for fine-tuning. 


13. On the numeric input panel, press the number key “2” to enter the desired current value. 


14. Tap the Enter button on the interface to confirm the current setting. 


15. Press the function key to exit the numeric input page and return to the main display interface of the power supply. 


16. Once parameter setup is complete, the device successfully switches to an output level of 20V voltage and 2A current limit. 

 

Additional Notes


1. At the bottom of the voltage parameter editing interface, there's a calculator-style icon. Tap it to freely switch between the scroll wheel knob and numeric keypad for adjusting parameters.

2. The icon with a loop symbol at the top right of the interface is the reset button. Pressing it will clear the accumulated run time and energy (Wh) data for this session, starting a new round of data recording.

3. The "Save" button allows you to store the currently configured voltage and current limit parameters, so you can recall the presets later without manually readjusting the settings.

4. The CC/OCP block on the right side of the interface lets you switch modes; just tap the button to switch between constant current (CC) and overcurrent protection (OCP) modes.

1. The PowerPi MP305B supports both button and touchscreen operation.

2. The PowerPi MP305B supports 0-30V/0-5A/150W linear output.

3. The PowerPi MP305B has a built-in 70.56Wh lithium-ion battery and supports Bluetooth connection and remote control via the app.
